MOVING CHECKLIST

UTILITIES:

• Call NF Power at 737-2808 or 1-800-663-2802 to set up electrical
• Call Rogers Cable at 1-888-764-3771 to set up cable
• Call Aliant at 1-866-425-4268 to set up phone
• Set up oil, propane, alarm system if applicable to you

CANADA POST :

• 2 weeks before closing day, visit or call 1-800-267-1177 to change your address. This will cost approximately $30.00.

INSURANCE POLICY:

• Have it in place before closing day, other wise the bank will not give a Mortgage.

LAWYER:

• When you receive this checklist. Speak to him/her and set up an appointment before closing day to sign the papers and find out exactly how much money is needed for closing day.

On closing day, you will have a final inspection with your agent. This is usually done around 9am. We will get in touch with you to confirm this time. Keys are usually given to new owners around 4 or 5 pm of closing day, so you will not be able to move in until that time.

OTHER THINGS TO THINK ABOUT:

• Transfer pet license and arrange for pet traveling during moving.
• Notify vehicle registration.
• Have a yard sale for unnecessary belongings.
• Notify schools.
• Notify dentist.
• Notify Canadian Revenue Agency.
• Notify garbage collector.
• Cancel newspaper subscriptions.
• Clean Fridge and Stove before moving day.
• Turn off lights.
• Turn furnace down or off.
• List claims for lost or damaged articles.
